Yeah I agree 100%. They actually expires quicker than every few years it seems. RSA should really be thinking about how to design the key fob so that they can be reused or have the components easily separated by consumers to insert a replacement subcomponent piece.

The Secure ID issued by E*Trade, and made by RSA Securit expires and gets replaced every few years. My directions from E*Trade are to dispose of it. There must be thousands of these little key fobs in the landfill. Can't they be reprogrammed or at the very least, melted down and used for something? Throwing them in the trash seems completely wasteful.

AND the packaging from E*Trade was a box that was about 8" x 10" thick cardboard with bubble wrap for a little tiny key fob. WASTE!
